Composer in Residence - Jacob Bride
Jacob Bride is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, conductor, and voice coach, currently living on the Kent coast.
He is the musical & creative director of a number of professional and community ensembles, including the Bradstow Symphony Orchestra, East Coast Chamber Choir, the Bradstow Singers, and East Coast Theatre.
As a freelance singer and instrumentalist, he has toured extensively in the UK, Europe, and America with theatre companies, choirs, and folk/world music ensembles, and works across the UK as a session viola player, violinist and percussionist for orchestral events and opera/theatre companies.
Jacob’s recent composing commissions include the Arts Council funded ‘Everything Changes With One Storm’ for Fat Lady Opera, ‘Drop!’ for the National Royal Air Force Cadet Band, ‘Der Trommler’ for SWSO, ‘Harpsichord Concerto’ for David Roblou, an opera ‘The Thane and His Wife’ and ‘Songs to Aphrodite’ (sponsored by HIlderstone/Sarah Thorne), ‘American Dances’ and ‘Percussion Concerto’ for the CRSO (where he holds the position of resident composer), and additional orchestration/arranging commissions for the RAF.
